Ideal Entertainment remains hot while Spring is still cold.

As I write this, it’s literally a snow/rain mix in New York City, yet it’s April 1st on the calendar! I, as most people, will be absolutely giddy once this winter weather ends.

Either way, business doesn’t stop for mother nature. We’ve been able to stay busy throughout the winter months, and we’re poised for our busiest summer to date! To say that after 15 years of business makes me truly happy to be a part of the party scene in New York.

For the month of April, we have a NYC Fire Department event tonight, and a Sweet 16 tomorrow. Then, we have Engagement parties, Wedding receptions, Birthday parties, and Corporate events the rest of the month! Then, as usual, starting in May we have an ONSLAUGHT of communions. At least 10 that I know of without looking at our company calendar. In addition to all the communions we have Proms, Formals, etc like we do every year around this time.

All the work flowing in makes me reflect on how it was when we first started this business. Coming from another DJ company, my business partner and I literally ordered business cards online as we sat in customer service for an internet retailer. Working at a normal $10 an hour job, we were tired of working for someone else when we knew what it would take to be successful. I had the contacts and my buddy had the equipment, so we decided to branch out and do our own thing. I’m well versed in Marketing, and at this otherwise mundane job I had designers, SEO specialists, and programmers at my disposal. As I became friends with them, I realized this dream was more possible than I originally expected. I decided that it was beneficial to use my current employer more than they used me, and utilize the resources around me.

After a year of hard work, we had a well-designed website, a beautiful logo, and a MASTER SEO specialist who got us ranked #1 in searches for Long Island DJ, Long Island DJ company, etc. We’ve managed to maintain that ranking for years and years now, and it continually brings us one of the most important ingredients to our successful company: New business.

Over 10 years later, we’ve grown this business to be what it is now: A successful, professional, exciting, and profitable entertainment company and I couldn’t be prouder of where we stand. When you own your business, it’s true that there are no set hours; it basically consumes your life. It’s very difficult to balance a business, another full time position (Long Island is not cheap therefore Ronny and I still work a normal 9-6 job during the week), and a family all while trying to maintain some sort of sanity in between all of it.

At this stage of my career, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I work extremely hard at succeeding in my daily life, and without hard work and the constant desire to grow, I’m not sure I’d be anywhere near where I am now.

Like I said in the beginning of this blog post, Ideal Entertainment is poised for it’s most successful year to date. If you want to see how we get the dance floor packed, come check us out this Summer and we’ll be happy to show you!
